Rare trips to Emerald City a treat for Tiger fans – Louisiana State University athletics will be making not one but two trips to Seattle in 2009, taking on the Washington Huskies in football this week and WSU men’s basketball in the annual Cougar Hardwood Classic.
The basketball team from Baton Rouge will make their trip to Seattle in December to meet WSU and first year coach Ken Bone. Seattle native Trent Johnson will lead the defending SEC Champions into KeyArena to take on Bone’s new look Cougars. Johnson (1989-92) and Bone (2002-05) both spent time as assistant coaches at The University of Washington.
LSU has hundreds of alumni located in Seattle and is expecting over 10,000 to attend this Saturday’s game at Husky Stadium. Significant attendance by Tiger faithful is also expected for the Cougar Hardwood Classic. Tickets for that event go on sale Saturday, September 19th at 10:00am and will be available at all Ticketmaster outlets.
