Seattle, Wash. – The Washington Huskies won’t be the only defending conference champion playing in the Emerald City this season.

As part of the two biggest neutral site events in the country, Seattle will host three universities who led their respective conference in 2009.  Louisiana State, Davidson and Gonzaga will all travel to play in KeyArena this December.

Three-time defending Southern Conference champion Davidson Wildcats will take on the Gonzaga Bulldogs in the 7^th annual Comcast Battle in Seattle.  The Dec. 12 game will match WCC Preseason All Conference nominees Matt Bouldin and Steven Gray against 2008 National Coach of the Year Bob McKillop in a re-match of the memorable 2008 NCAA first-round game in Raleigh, N.C.

Davidson outlasted the Zags 82-76 on what may have been one of the greatest individual efforts in the history of the Big Dance.  Gonzaga could not find an answer for Stephen Curry as the All American guard scored 30 out of his 40 points in the second half.

The Bulldogs enter the season having won nine consecutive WCC regular season titles, marking the longest active conference title winning streak in the nation.

Trent Johnson, a Seattle native, was named SEC Coach of the Year as he led LSU to their 10th league championship in 08-09 with a 13-3 record.  The Tigers were selected as the No. 8 seed in the South Region of the NCAA Tournament.

The squad from Baton Rouge will be taking on Ken Bone and the new look Washington State Cougars in the 5^th annual Cougar Hardwood Classic presented by Seattlepi.com.  Bone, also a Seattle native, will look to continue WSU’s undefeated record in this annual event.

The December 22^nd game at Seattle’s KeyArena will feature two of the best players in the country in Klay Thompson and Tasmin Mitchell.  Both Thompson and Mitchell were named to their preseason all conference first teams.
